What I don't get is...
... how some MP from Jasin can flaunt his lawlessness and prance around saying it's okay, and no one's really taking action against him?
Please explain this to me. I am, after all, only a lowly citizen of this country who can only sit by and watch the MPs make a mockery of the law.
He asked the authorities to "close one eye" when the logs brought in did not meet legal specifications. He says it's not wrong cos he used the ultimate untouchable excuse with the ultimate untouchable word (do guess what it is, if you're even a half-wit you'd see it immediately) "I'm trying to help a small BUMIPUTERA business".
Come on lah.
And then the next day in the papers another example was given (either by him or another equally dim MP) in the lines of "If you're going 120kmph on the highway, and the cops stop you because the speed limit is 90, won't you ask for some leniency?"
Wow. GREAT example to the rest of us, huh? No wonder no one gives a shit about the law. Our politicians obviously don't anyway.
And for it to be declared a "party problem" instead of OUR problem, is shortchanging us as the people. It's OUR problem when a so-called leader of the rakyat is happily going around making even dumber statements to distract from his obvious disregard for the law because, well, no one really put their foot down and say "hey man, you've done some serious WRONG. You need to get punished to set the example for other people who try to do this again"
I feel bad for the people of Jasin to be so humiliated that their "leader" (eurgh, VOMIT!), no doubt, elected by them (DOUBLEVOMIT!) has let them down by being, well, quite the crooked one.
(I have to watch my words here because apparently even on the Net us Malaysians are not safe from the law. We can be charged with slander and libel for saying shit on our PERSONAL blogs that feature our PERSONAL opinions on the FREE SPACE that is the Internet. Yes, no freedom.)
And on that note, isn't it truly ironic that the BIG MAN who once said that he will not let this ocuntry go down to free speech, is now saying that as a common citizen he has a right to be heard, no matter how differing his views are from the one the Government wants us all to uphold and believe without an ounce of question and opinion?
Hah. Hahahaha. HAHAHAHA.
Irony. It's pretty damn funny.
