Siapa yang salah?
So Datuk Rais Yatim has won his little battle against the organizers of the Pussycat Dolls concert recently with a hefty fine for bringing down a bunch of scantily-clad ass shaking girlies to perform here.
Yay for him. Maybe now he'll sleep better at night knowing that everyone has totally overlooked the fact that if the G'ment authorities actually paid attention in the first place, the concert might not have taken place at all.
Think about it. Okay, so perhaps the licence for the concert might've slipped under the radar. But what about the weeks of blatant advertising on print and television media? Were the authorities even reading the papers in the first place? Did they think the pics of PSD in the ads (and they were NOT in hijjab, or tudungs, or turtleneck sweaters in the first place so why so damn surprised lah?)- were just a sexy telco ad?
Give me a break lah. When we first heard of PSD coming here, we, typical everyday thinking Malaysians, were worried about the holier-than-thous cancelling it.
And weeks later it happened. So who's not doing their job? Well it's quite apparent from who's the one making the most noise la. It's called guilt. You let it pass right under your noses. It didn't try to hide or be something it wasn't. It was advertised openly with no objection.
And then you're surprised it actually happened? When you were the same people who made Tina Turner cover up (because apparently Malaysians will all jack off to the wonderful sight of a 50-plus woman gyrating in tight clothes...)...
Blah la. You let it happen. And now someone has to pay YOU for your incompetence. The title of this blog is really ringing true.
And trying to control blogs because the big guns hate having their weaknesses brought up for public thinking and awareness is manifestation of panic because the dreams of a totally controlled society is never going to come true. I am what I am and have my own opinions and I have the right to be what I want to be. I don't hurt anyone, and I believe the walls I try to break down with so many others are for valid cause. And many turn to the Net to say what they feel because we've all learnt that any kind of comment, no matter how well-meaning, earnest and right, will not be accepted in our society which only can adhere to ONE set of rules.
Like our national anthem - we can only do it one way because any otehr way, no matter how much nicer (even a midi is better than the silly marching coma-inducing version) and more heartwarming (look at the americans sing theirs in so many ways and with so much passion!) - it's against rules, it's different, so it's wrong.
