Football Fever Weekend Rant 1
Well, aside from that really embarassing boo-boo I made earlier (already corrected) about mxing up England and Germany --- I mean, HOW COULD I?
At least Germany played much better in the opening match, as opposed to England's yawn-worthy performance against Paraguay.
England 1 - 0 Paraguay
Apa lah. Already over-hyped with some of the most overpaid/overrated superstar syndrome players, and now can complain about the heat?
Sheesh. Those millions of pounds you jokers are earning in the EPL should buy you some resistance to heat, pussies.
Seriously. I had more respect for the team until I watch them play so BLAH-ly that day.
And then the only goal happened to be own goal. So stop dancing around like you deserved it. You should be scoring your own. Blah. So boring some more the match. Those who missed it and tried to catch the rematch - tak payah lah. Buang mase je. Nothing worth watching at all.
Sweden 0 - 0 Trinidad & Tobago
Quite nice to watch, much better than the earlier game for sure. I'm amazed T&T's defence held up against the typically high-speed game that Sweden is known for. Unfortunately I have to be honest and tell the truth - I fell asleep sometime at halftime. What to do... it was a long day lah. And I'm immune to coffee.
Argentina 2 - 1 Ivory Coast
Best match I've seen so far, most exciting and damn I wish it was on at 9pm instead of that time-waster match. Should've slept so I can watch THIS one live. More worth it. No wonder it is the group of death! Argentina played alright, giving a two-point lead earlier on in the game, and then POW! Eight minutes before time Drogba steers the ball into the net! And believe me, after the amount of attempts at the goal from Ivory Coast - it was like, FINALLY! Wish they went on to draw but hey! My favourite team comes first...
Holland 1 - 0 Serbia & Montenegro
MY FAVOURITE TEAM is on! Woo hoo!!! Dressed in my Oranje-supporting gear I was, like many fans of ANY team, convinced that your lucky team outfit will somehow miraculously channel good luck vibes to the team and they will win because of YOU!
Well whatever it is - Serbia played well (and put up a really impressive fight), kept Horsie-rooij and his boys busy, busy, busy. In general though, the Oranje has played better than I've seen them play in a while. Teamwork has definitely improved, and I think the roughing-up by the Ozzies in the friendlies have gotten them more foul-friendly hahaha. But they need to get more aggro!! Come on! And hopefully Van der Sar gets better by next match against Ivory Coast because they're gonna get a good fight there too.
But what an awesome match, this one!!! Not as super-duper cool as the Argentina-Ivory Coast match but woo hoo that's ONE win for the Dutch and I'm crossing my fingers they make it to the semis. Please!!!!!!
I fell asleep through the next two matches cos I had to work the next day hahahaha. And I overate at the mamak during the Holland match cos I was excited and happy HOHOHOHO!
